As a result of the second call for Applications “ISRP Scholarships for Young Researchers / Autumn 2008” the Institute for Studies of the Recent Past received twenty applications of PhD students and post-docs from various fields and research institutions in Bulgaria.
At its meeting on the 9th of December the Selection Committe decided to grant five scholarships to the following projects:
- Milena Angelova (Assist. Prof.), Memory Policies during Communism. “People’s Memory Tells” National Movement (1983-1989), South-West University of Blagoevgrad
- Nina Dimitrova (Assist. Researcher), The Role of the Social Services in Bulgaria 1944 – 1989 г., Institute of Sociology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
- Radostina Sharenkova (PhD), Museums, Propaganda and Audiences: The Efficiency of Museum Presentations of Communism before 1989, History and Ethnology teacher at the Bulgarian School in Leiden, Netherlands
- Ralitsa Ganeva (Assist. Prof.), The Formation of the Human Capital and Its Influence on the Economic Growth: Bulgaria in the Communist Period, Sofia University, Faculty of Economy
- Sergey Vuchkov (PhD Student), Cinemafication of the Muslim Villages in South-west Bulgaria in the 50-ies and 60-ies of the 20th c., South-West University of Blagoevgrad
In the first days of the coming new year the Institute’s coordination team will get in touch with all selected fellows to arrange and finalize necessary paper work regarding their grant.
