On the 13th of January 2009 the Selection Committee invited by the Institute for Studies of the Recent Past gathered to review the 10 submitted University course applications.
Its members Prof. Petya Kabakchieva (Head of the Sociological Department, Sofia University), Prof. Diana Mishkova (Director of the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia) and Dr. Daniel Vachkov (Researcher at the Institute for History, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) after long and argumentative discussion decided to grant three course scholarships to the following applicants (following in alphabetic sequence):
- Anthropology of Socialism, Assist. Prof. Nikolay Vukov, Department of Ethnology, Faculty of Philosophy, Plovdiv University
- Figures of Memory, Prof. Georgi Fotev, New Bulgarian University, Department of Philosophy and Sociology,
- Socialism in Bulgaria: Lifestyles. (Political Control of everyday life and Ideological Colonization of Life Spaces during Communism in Bulgaria), Prof. Ivan Elenkov, Prof. Ivaylo Ditchev, Assoc. Prof. Daniela Koleva, Assoc. Prof. Alexander Kiossev, Sofia University, Department “History and Theory of Culture”
